Wonersh Trains

UK Agent for Darstaed de Luxe O-gauge Electric Trains and Accessories

The 262 tank locomotive was originally drawn in 2000 as the ACE E/3 Project but never put into production. The Darstaed version is very much in keeping with this concept. Its not a fine scale model, its a robust loco in the style of the great tinplate trains of the past. All 6 driving wheels are driven but it easily negotiates 2ft curved track. Front and rear couplings are standard droplink as used by Bassett-Lowke and ACE etc.

The Mabuchi motor is 0-24v DC and starts moving at around 2 volts.

The first models on the market were GWR, to which the 262T outline is eminently suited, a green SR version and a lovely brown LBSCR, all at the special introductory price of £295. LMS maroon, CR and LNWR followed, together with a price rise to £325 on September 1st 2010. The full list issued so far (Jan 2012) are; GWR, SR olive, SR Black, LNER black, LMS maroon, LMS black, CR, LBSCR, BR Green early, BR green late, BR black early, BR black late, CR, SDJR, LT, MET, LNWR. Some models such as SR, LMS and LNER had other wheel colour options.

Still to come are LNER green, GER, GCR and finally SECR which has the most complicated livery of them all. My first order was for one of the SECR so both he and I will sigh with relief when I finally deliver it to him. Quite a line up.

The table below shows some of the computerised design images, which are pretty faithful to the finished product. I have also included underneath them a few pics of actual models taken with my modest little digital camera.

SOLD OUT; LT, LSWR
