GWR/BR 57XX Pannier Tank

Few GWR or BR Western Region scenes are complete without a Pannier tank; over 2000 of various types of this popular loco were built, or converted from earlier saddle tanks. The most numerous were the 57XX series of 863 examples; our example represents one of these with the earlier cab version. 13 Panniers were later sold to London Transport to become the last standard gauge locos in non-industrial sevice in Great Britain, two years after the official end of steam on BR. Several were also given extended but hard lives in industrial use and thankfully 23 Panniers survive in preservation, of which 16 are of the 57XX class including 6 ex-LT.

There will be a limited number of each LT number. In addition, the NCB Pannier will, along with the NCB Jinty be offered in sets containing some appropriate coal wagons.

Prices of all Panniers will be £295 and first deliveries of all liveries are expected in March/April. Prices of sets TBA.

Here is the full range of liveries we are offering. The mech is the same as the Jinty, except that the wheel spacings are slightly different, as they were in real life. The Pannier has a built-in On/Off/Reverse switch so you can run it backwards or forwards if you like double heading with any other loco.
